Traveling Russia by Train

No matter what is said about Russia, one fact is true - it is a huge country stretching from the Baltic and Black Seas in the west to the Pacific Ocean in the East. And one of the best ways to travel Russia and see all its beauties is surely by train. Going from Moscow to St Petersburg is actually a one-night trip, but there is something romantic even about such a short journey: you can order a traditional Russian tea in a glass with an old decorated glass-holder and enjoy quiet talk with your friends to the sound of wheels. If you plan to have a longer travel, e.g. from Moscow to Kazan, you'll get an unforgettable experience of watching endless fields and woods and small Russian towns, where the trains usually stop and you can get off for several minutes and walk a bit.

For most of its history, the Trans-Siberian journey has been an experience of almost continuous movement, seven days or more of extraordinary train travel through the vast expanse of Russia. It runs from Moscow to Vladivostok via southern Siberia. While it attracts many foreign tourists, it is widely used by Russian people to travel around the country.Highway Chita-Khabarovsk awaited in 2010The Trans-Siberia Railway: Moscow to BeijingTrans-Siberian Railroad and the wars of 20th century
