Unique Accumulators to Be Produced

Novosibirsk plant of chemical concentrates will produce power lithium-ion accumulator batteries for ecologically friendly cars. The project was submitted by Russian TVEL company, the abovementioned plant and Chinese “Thunder Sky” company, which is the author of the unique technology. Batteries will be sent to China and installed on modernized public transport. Russia don’t have plans to switch public transport to electric batteries, however, everything may change. The programme also involves scientists from the Institute of Chemistry of Solids and Mechanochemistry, who developed nanostructural material for cathodes. The material, which is the mixture of lithium, iron and phosphate, has much better characteristics than Chinese cathode material currently used in batteries.
