Matryoshka Doll surpassed Double-headed Eagle as National Symbol

The new survey conducted recently showed that 12% of Russians see Matryoshka Doll as the national symbol of the country. Meanwhile, the official state symbol of the Russian Federation is the double-headed eagle (only 3% of respondents). The survey revealed that most of the Russians have their own idea of the thing held worthy of representing Russia abroad. 8% of people believe that the bear could become the national symbol, but some of them think of the brown bear, while the others see the polar bear as the symbol. About 6% of Russians named vodka, 4% - the national flag, 3% think of the Russia-made weapons (Kalashnikov automatic rifle, battle tanks, fighter jets, etc.). Among other answers given are a balalaika, a sickle and a hammer, an ear-flapped hat, a table glass, blini (pancakes) with caviar and some others.
