Cosmonaut Training Centre – 50th Anniversary
Yesterday the Cosmonaut Training Centre, which is the main “space university” of our country, celebrated its 50th anniversary. On January 1960 the Commander-in-Chief of Soviet Air Force ordered to establish the Cosmonaut Training Centre (CTC), which is now named after Yuri Gagarin. Not only Russian cosmonauts train in the CTC, the Centre also works with international astronauts from USA, Europe, Japan and other countries. After half a century of hard work, the Centre trained over 100 Russian and tens of foreign cosmonauts on unique facilities for practicing all possible and impossible situations.
